Evolution Items
The Upgrade is an evolution item in Pokémon GO with one use: it evolves
Porygon into
Porygon2. The evolution costs one Upgrade plus 25 Candy. (The main series games spell it "Up-Grade.")
To go one step further, Porygon2 evolves into
Porygon-Z with a
Sinnoh Stone and 100 Candy. That's 125 Candy, one Upgrade, and one Sinnoh Stone for the full line.
It's one of the five standard evolution items, alongside the
Sun Stone,
King's Rock,
Metal Coat, and
Dragon Scale. All five can drop from PokéStop spins.
Pokémon That Evolve With an Upgrade
- Porygon → Porygon2 (25 Candy)
How to Get an Upgrade
The best repeatable source is spinning PokéStops and Gyms every day. Spins have a small chance to drop an evolution item, and the seventh day of a PokéStop spin streak awards one.
