Evolution Items
The Metal Coat is an evolution item in Pokémon GO that evolves two Pokémon into Steel types:
Onix into
Steelix and
Scyther into
Scizor. Each evolution uses one Metal Coat plus 50 Candy.
It's one of the five standard evolution items, alongside the
Sun Stone,
King's Rock,
Dragon Scale, and
Upgrade. All five can drop from PokéStop spins.
Pokémon That Evolve With a Metal Coat
- Onix → Steelix (50 Candy)
- Scyther → Scizor (50 Candy)
Scizor and Steelix can both Mega Evolve after you evolve them.
How to Get a Metal Coat
The best repeatable source is spinning PokéStops and Gyms every day. Spins have a small chance to drop an evolution item, and the seventh day of a PokéStop spin streak awards one.
