Trainer Boosts
The Coin Bag is a Trainer Boost item in Pokémon GO that makes Roaming Form
Gimmighoul appear around you for 30 minutes. It works like a
Mystery Box does for Meltan: while it's open, Gimmighoul are the only Pokémon it attracts.
Catching Roaming Form Gimmighoul rewards
Gimmighoul Coins. Collect 999 coins to evolve Gimmighoul into
Gholdengo. You can also earn coins by walking with Gimmighoul as your buddy.
How to Get the Coin Bag
You get the Coin Bag by connecting Pokémon GO to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet on Nintendo Switch and sending a Postcard from Pokémon GO to the game. It stays in your inventory for good.
For every step of the setup, see our Gimmighoul Coin Bag guide.
How Often You Can Open the Coin Bag
You can open the Coin Bag once per day. To recharge it, send another Postcard to Scarlet or Violet. You can send one Postcard per day, and the limit resets at midnight.
Every 5 Postcards you send also earns a
Golden Lure Module, which turns a PokéStop gold so spins can reward more Gimmighoul Coins.
How to Use the Coin Bag
- Send a Postcard to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.
- Tap the Poké Ball menu, then "Items".
- Tap the Coin Bag and confirm.
Gimmighoul spawn as you move, so open the Coin Bag before a walk to see as many as possible in 30 minutes.
