Evolution Items
The Sweet Apple is an evolution item in Pokémon GO that evolves
Applin into the Grass and Dragon type
Appletun. The evolution costs 20 Sweet Apples plus 200 Applin Candy.
Applin evolves differently depending on the apple you give it. A
Tart Apple evolves it into
Flapple, and a
Syrupy Apple evolves it into
Dipplin. All three need 20 apples and 200 Candy.
- Applin → Appletun (200 Candy and 20 Sweet Apples)
Sweet Apples first appeared in Pokémon GO during the Sweet Discoveries event in April 2025, when Applin made its debut.
How to Get Sweet Apples
The main source is a PokéStop with an active
Mossy Lure Module. Apples appear near it, and tapping one awards apples or an encounter with Applin or another Pokémon. The Lure doesn't have to be yours.
- Tapping apples near PokéStops with an active Mossy Lure Module
- Event Timed Research, including branching research where you pick an apple type
- Event GO Pass reward tracks
- Catching Applin during events where it may hold apples
Apples don't take up space in your Item Bag.
How to Evolve Applin Into Appletun
- Collect 20 Sweet Apples and 200 Applin Candy.
- Open your Applin. It has three Evolve buttons, one for each apple.
- Tap the Evolve button for Appletun and confirm.
