Evolution Items
The Syrupy Apple is an evolution item in Pokémon GO that evolves
Applin into the Grass and Dragon type
Dipplin. The evolution costs 20 Syrupy Apples plus 200 Applin Candy.
Applin evolves differently depending on the apple you give it. A
Sweet Apple evolves it into
Appletun, and a
Tart Apple evolves it into
Flapple. All three need 20 apples and 200 Candy.
Dipplin is the only apple evolution that evolves again. It becomes
Hydrapple for 400 Applin Candy after you catch 7 Dragon-type Pokémon with Dipplin as your buddy. No apple is needed for that step.
- Applin → Dipplin (200 Candy and 20 Syrupy Apples)
- Dipplin → Hydrapple (400 Candy, no apples)
Syrupy Apples first appeared in Pokémon GO during the Harvest Festival event in October 2025, when Dipplin and Hydrapple made their debut.
How to Get Syrupy Apples
The main source is a PokéStop with an active
Mossy Lure Module. Apples appear near it, and tapping one awards apples or an encounter with Applin or another Pokémon. The Lure doesn't have to be yours.
- Tapping apples near PokéStops with an active Mossy Lure Module
- Event Timed Research, including branching research where you pick an apple type
- Event GO Pass reward tracks
- Catching Applin during events where it may hold apples
Apples don't take up space in your Item Bag.
How to Evolve Applin Into Dipplin
- Collect 20 Syrupy Apples and 200 Applin Candy.
- Open your Applin. It has three Evolve buttons, one for each apple.
- Tap the Evolve button for Dipplin and confirm.
To continue to Hydrapple, set Dipplin as your buddy, catch 7 Dragon-type Pokémon, and then evolve it with 400 Candy.
