Frequently Asked Questions
What are move counts in Pokémon GO?
A move count is the number of fast moves a Pokémon needs to use before it has enough energy for a charged move in Trainer Battles. Move counts depend on the energy generated by the fast move and the energy cost of the charged move, not on level, IVs, CP, shields, or Shadow status.
How do I read the move count table?
Fast moves run across the columns and charged moves run down the rows. Each cell shows how many uses of that column’s fast move are needed for successive uses of that row’s charged move. The fast move label also shows its energy gain and duration in turns, while the charged move label shows its energy cost.
Why can the move count change after the first charged move?
Unused energy carries over after a charged move is thrown. When a fast move generates more energy than the charged move needs, the extra energy can reduce a later count. The comma-separated values show the first four charged-move cycles while respecting the 100-energy limit in Trainer Battles.
What do advanced energy deltas mean?
The advanced delta explains the first charged-move threshold. The plus value is the energy left after throwing the charged move, and the minus value is the energy the Pokémon would have been short if it had used one fewer fast move.
What does STAB-adjusted power show?
STAB is the same-type attack bonus. When STAB-adjusted power is enabled, the displayed PvP power includes that bonus when the move’s type matches one of the Pokémon’s types. Fast moves also show damage per turn, and charged moves show damage per energy.
Can recommended movesets differ between leagues?
Yes. Great, Ultra, and Master League have different CP limits and competitive environments, so the preferred fast and charged moves can change by league. Choose a league in Settings to show its recommended moves directly on each Pokémon’s move labels.
What do the move availability markers mean?
An asterisk marks a legacy move that is normally only learnable with an Elite TM. A cross marks an exclusive move that cannot normally be taught with either a regular TM or an Elite TM. Hover or focus the marker to see its specific availability details.
Jump by name or number, such as Pikachu, 25, or #25.
