Fast TM
This Technical Machine teaches the Pokémon a new Fast Attack.
Category
TMs
A Fast TM is a Technical Machine in Pokémon GO that replaces a Pokémon's Fast Attack with a different Fast Attack chosen at random from the moves that Pokémon can learn. It never gives back the move the Pokémon already knows, and it can't teach legacy or event-exclusive moves.
To pick a specific Fast Attack, including a legacy move, use an
Elite Fast TM instead. For Charged Attacks, use a
Charged TM.
How to Get Fast TMs
The best repeatable source of Fast TMs is winning raids, which often include TMs in the rewards.
- Winning a raid
- Winning GO Battle League battles
- Completing Field Research, Special Research, or Timed Research tasks
- Reaching trainer Level 19, which rewards your first Fast TM
- Top finishes in PokéStop Showcases
How to Use a Fast TM
- Open the Pokémon you want to change.
- Tap the menu button in the bottom right corner and choose "Items".
- Select the Fast TM and confirm.
- The Pokémon forgets its current Fast Attack and learns a random new one.
Note: if a Pokémon can only learn one Fast Attack, there is nothing to swap to, so a Fast TM can't be used on it.
Fast TMs and Shadow Pokémon
Shadow Pokémon can use Fast TMs normally. Their Charged Attack
Frustration is the only move that's locked, and Fast TMs don't affect it.
