Trainer Boosts
A Max Mushroom is a Trainer Boost item in Pokémon GO that doubles the damage your Pokémon deal in Max Battles for 30 minutes. The 2× boost applies to Fast Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Max Moves from your Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon.
The boost only applies to your own Pokémon, not the rest of your team. Using more Max Mushrooms back to back adds more time, but the damage stays at 2×.
How to Get Max Mushrooms
The shop is the main source of Max Mushrooms. Free ones are rare.

How to Use a Max Mushroom
To use a Max Mushroom, tap the Poké Ball menu and "Items" to open your inventory. Tap the Max Mushroom and confirm to start the 30-minute timer.
The Best Times to Use Max Mushrooms
The timer keeps running between battles, so only activate a Max Mushroom when you can do several Max Battles in a row. They help most against tough Gigantamax bosses, where doubling your damage can let a smaller group win before time runs out. Stock up on 
Max Particles first so you can keep battling while it's active.
