Other Items
Mysterious Components are items in Pokémon GO that you earn by defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts. Collect 6 Mysterious Components and they combine automatically into a
Rocket Radar, which you use to find the hideouts of the Team GO Rocket Leaders Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra.
To find Giovanni, the Team GO Rocket Boss, you need a
Super Rocket Radar instead, which can't be built from Mysterious Components.
How to Get Mysterious Components
The best repeatable way to collect Mysterious Components is battling Team GO Rocket Grunts at invaded PokéStops and in balloons.
- Defeating a Team GO Rocket Grunt rewards 1 Mysterious Component
- Some Special Research and Timed Research tasks, often during Team GO Rocket events
Note: Grunts only drop Mysterious Components when you don't already have a Rocket Radar. Battle a Leader with your current Rocket Radar before collecting more.
How to Use Mysterious Components
You don't use Mysterious Components directly. After your sixth one, they're assembled into a Rocket Radar. Then:
- Tap the Poké Ball menu, then "Items".
- Tap the Rocket Radar and equip it.
- Follow the radar on the map to a PokéStop with a Team GO Rocket Leader's hideout.
- Battle the Leader for a chance to rescue a Shadow Pokémon.
