Purified Gems are items in Pokémon GO that are used to subdue an enraged Shadow Pokémon during a Shadow Raid Battle. Once a Shadow Raid Boss has lost a third of its total Hit Points, it will enrage, increasing damage dealt and decreasing damage taken.
A trainer can hold a maximum of 10 Purified Gems at a time, but only 5 Purified Gems can be brought into a Shadow Raid Battle. It takes 8 Purified Gems to subdue a Shadow Raid Boss.
It takes 25 seconds to use all 5 Purified Gems, and there is a 5-second cool-down between each use.
How to Get Purified Gems
Collect 4 
Shadow Shards by defeating Team GO Rocket Members or as rewards from completing Shadow Raid Battles, and they will be turned into a Purified Gem using the Shard Refiner.
