A Silver Bottle Cap is a one-time-use item in Pokémon GO that starts Hyper Training on a single stat. You choose Attack, Defense, or HP, then raise that IV, up to 15, by completing tasks with the Pokémon as your buddy. The Pokémon's CP rises automatically as the IV goes up.
A 
Gold Bottle Cap can raise all three stats at once. You can use more than one Silver Bottle Cap on the same Pokémon, one after another, to train additional stats.
How Hyper Training Works
- The Pokémon must be a Good Buddy or higher.
- Shadow Pokémon can't be Hyper Trained, and neither can Pokémon that already have perfect 15/15/15 IVs.
- Each completed task raises the stat by 1 IV point. Tasks get harder as the stat climbs.
- Attack tasks focus on battling, Defense tasks on playing, exploring, and catching, and HP tasks on exploring, such as spinning PokéStops and earning Buddy Candy.
- You have 365 days from using the Silver Bottle Cap to finish the tasks. IV points you've already earned stay.
- Hyper Trained Pokémon can't be sent to Pokémon HOME.
How to Get Silver Bottle Caps
Silver Bottle Caps are very rare. They debuted as a reward from GO Pass Deluxe: Into the Wild in November 2025, a paid Deluxe GO Pass track.
Note: Silver Bottle Caps from a GO Pass expire on a set date shortly after the event, whether or not you've used them. Use yours before it shows up in the "Expiring Soon" section of your bag.
Which Stat to Train
Train the stat that matters most for how you'll use the Pokémon. Attack raises damage in raids and helps win Charged Attack ties in GO Battle League, while Defense and HP add bulk. For a near-perfect Pokémon, train whichever stat is lowest.
