Evolution Items
Gimmighoul Coins are an evolution item in Pokémon GO used for one evolution:
Gimmighoul (Roaming Form) into
Gholdengo. The evolution costs 999 Gimmighoul Coins and no Candy.
Coins don't take up space in your Item Bag, and you can hold up to 9,999 of them.
Note: Gimmighoul forms carrying an anniversary coin, such as
9th Anniversary Coin Gimmighoul, can't evolve.
How to Get Gimmighoul Coins
Coins come from Gimmighoul itself and from Golden PokéStops. Most of this depends on linking Pokémon GO to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet and sending Postcards.
- Catching Roaming Form Gimmighoul
- Walking with Gimmighoul as your buddy
- Spinning a PokéStop with an active
Golden Lure Module
The Coin Bag and Golden Lure Module
After you link to Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet and send a Postcard, you can open the
Coin Bag once per day. It makes Roaming Form Gimmighoul appear around you for 30 minutes, and each one you catch gives coins.
Sending Postcards on multiple days also earns Golden Lure Modules. A Golden Lure lasts 30 minutes and turns a PokéStop gold, so spinning it can award Gimmighoul Coins. Roaming Form Gimmighoul can very rarely appear there too.
How to Evolve Gimmighoul Into Gholdengo
- Collect at least 999 Gimmighoul Coins.
- Open your Roaming Form Gimmighoul and tap Evolve.
- Confirm. All 999 coins are used.
