About HMs in X and Y
HMs (Hidden Machines) teach moves that also work outside battle, like Cut for clearing small trees and Surf for crossing water.
X and Y have five HMs, and you can’t finish the game without Strength and Surf. This page shows where to get each one, which badge lets you use it outside battle, and every Pokémon that can learn it. Pick the HMs you need and it finds the fewest Pokémon that can carry them, so the rest of your team keeps four battle moves.

Which Pokémon can learn the most HMs?
Dragonite, Mew and Arceus learn all five.
What’s a good HM helper in X and Y?
Two Pokémon can carry all five HMs between them, for example Feraligatr and Charizard. The helper finder above shows more options for your version and starter.
