About HMs in Platinum

HMs (Hidden Machines) teach moves that also work outside battle, like Cut for clearing small trees and Surf for crossing water.

Platinum has eight HMs, and you can’t finish the game without Rock Smash, Cut, Surf, Strength, Rock Climb and Waterfall. This page shows where to get each one, which badge lets you use it outside battle, and every Pokémon that can learn it. Pick the HMs you need and the helper finder picks the fewest Pokémon that can carry them, so the rest of your team keeps four battle moves.

Which Pokémon can learn the most HMs?

Mew and Arceus learn all eight. Dragonite and Empoleon learn seven.

What’s a good HM helper in Platinum?
