How it works
Combat Power (CP) combines a Pokémon's base stats, its three Individual Values (IVs), and its level. IVs run from 0 to 15 for Attack, Defense, and Stamina, so a perfect spread is 15/15/15. The IV percentage is the total of the three out of 45, so 15/15/15 is 100% and a 10/10/10 floor is about 67%.
The catch method sets the level and the lowest IVs you can get:
- Field, Special, and GO Battle League research catches are Level 15 with a 10/10/10 IV floor.
- Eggs and raid catches (no weather boost) are Level 20 with a 10/10/10 IV floor.
- Weather-boosted raid catches are Level 25 with a 10/10/10 IV floor.
- Wild catches range from Level 1 to 30 with no IV floor (Level 6 to 35 and a 4/4/4 floor when weather-boosted).
- Shadow raid catches use a 6/6/6 IV floor.
Powering up raises the level and the CP, but never the IVs. The CP a Pokémon shows at catch is the fastest way to spot a high-IV Tapu Lele before you spend any Stardust.
