Earning candy for a 20 km Buddy
At 20 km per candy, walking a Legendary is slow. You can speed this up by getting your Buddy Excited using a Poffin. An Excited Buddy halves the distance to 10 km.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all Legendary Pokémon 20 km Buddies?
Yes. Every Legendary, Mythical and Ultra Beast Pokémon in Pokémon GO takes 20 km of walking to earn candy.
How can you earn Legendary candy faster?
Keep your Buddy Excited to halve the distance to 10 km. If getting candy is your only goal, it’s most likely faster to earn Rare Candy through other means and then spend it on the Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast you need candy for.
