Level 80 XP Requirements and Rewards
More details and information about the upcoming rebalance to trainers' levels in Pokémon GO have been revealed.
A goal of the rebalance is to make the leveling journey more exciting and rewarding. Trainers will level up more often, and the level-up rewards have been improved, including increased storage capacity and new avatar items.
Total XP Required for Key Milestone Levels
The leveling curve has been rebalanced, but the total amount of XP required to reach the current maximum level has not increased by much.
The total amount of XP needed to hit level 50 before the rebalance was 176,000,000. To hit max level after the update, an additional 27,353,000 XP is required.

New Avatar Rewards
We will be getting new avatar rewards starting at level 25, and every 5 levels after that until we hit level 65. Starting at level 71, we'll work towards a black and gold outfit with Shoes (level 71), Shades (level 73), Pants (75), Pose (77), Hairstyles (79), and finally the Level 80 Jacket.

Old Avatar Items No Longer Obtainable
The avatar items trainers earned from levels 40-50 will no longer be obtainable after October 15, 2025.
Don't worry, though. If you've already earned these items, you will keep them forever, including the Level 50 Jacket.
Increased Chance of Lucky Friends at Level 70
Trainers at level 70 and higher will have an increased chance of becoming Lucky Friends with Trainers with whom they’ve achieved a Friendship level of Best Friends.
Currently, trainers have about a 1-2% chance (Source: The Silph Road) to become Lucky Friends on each of their daily interactions with one of their Best Friends. We don't yet know how much of a boost this Level 70 bonus will give.
New Item: Daily Adventure Egg
Starting at level 51, we'll get a free 
Daily Adventure Egg each day we log in. Explore (Walk) 1 km to hatch a Pokémon and also earn 10,000 XP.
This Daily Adventure Egg will not take up Egg Storage and will have its own special 
Daily Adventure Incubator.
- When a Trainer logs in to Pokémon GO for the first time on a new day, the Daily Adventure Egg will automatically be placed into its own Incubator.
- Trainers can only hold and incubate one Daily Adventure Egg at a time.
- The Daily Adventure Egg will hatch after exploring a distance of 1 km.
- The Daily Adventure Egg will not count towards the Trainer’s current Egg storage.
