Pokémon Debuts
Maschiff, the Rascal Pokémon, and 
Mabosstiff, the Boss Pokémon, will make their Pokémon GO debuts! You might find Maschiff in Eggs, Field Research, or via the GO Pass.
You can use 50 Maschiff Candy to evolve Maschiff into Mabosstiff.

For the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny 
Flamigo—if you’re lucky!
You may encounter Flamigo in the wild or when you complete GO Pass and Field Research tasks. You may also hatch Flamigo from Eggs.
You’ll also have an increased chance of encountering Shiny 
Pidgey from September 8 at 10:00 a.m. to September 11 at 10:00 a.m., and Shiny 
Carvanha from September 11 at 10:00 a.m. to September 14 at 8:00 p.m.
New Mega Level: Super Max!
Starting with the Mega Squads event, you’ll be able to increase 
Mega Beedrill’s and 
Mega Houndoom’s Mega Level all the way up to Super Max Level for the first time in Pokémon GO! Learn more here.
As discovered during Mega Finale, Pokémon that are eligible to unlock Super Max level can learn an additional Charged Attack while they’re Mega Evolved! Learn more here
Beedrill will now be able to use an additional Charged Attack, Fell Stinger+, when it’s Mega Evolved.
- Trainer Battles: 40 power and increases Attack by one stage
- Raid Battles: 140 power
The power of this attack will increase with the Pokémon’s Mega Level!
Houndoom will now be able to use an additional Charged Attack, Dark Pulse+, when it’s Mega Evolved.
- Trainer Battles: 60 power
- Raid Battles: 150 power
The power of this attack will increase with the Pokémon’s Mega Level!
Remember: You must increase a Pokémon’s Mega Level to the third level, Max, before you can increase it to Super Max.
To help your Pokémon reach Super Max Level, Mega Evolving alone won’t be enough—you’ll need to use that Pokémon’s Mega Energy to power it up! Participate in Mega Raids and catch 
Weedle, Pidgey, 
Houndour, and Carvanha during this event to earn lots of Mega Energy to help complete this task.

From Tuesday, September 8, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, September 14, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe for Mega Squads will be available in Pokémon GO!
GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe
A GO Pass is a free, limited-time progression track available during a specified period. By collecting GO Points, you can increase your rank to earn rewards.
Trainers will automatically receive GO Pass: Mega Squads on Tuesday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. local time. You can collect GO Points and rank up to get additional rewards through Monday, September 14, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
For US$4.99*, Trainers can upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe, a paid version of the GO Pass that offers upgraded rewards and faster progression.
For US$6.99*, Trainers can upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe + 6 Ranks to also automatically earn enough GO Points to reach Rank 7.
While progressing through the GO Pass Deluxe, you’ll be able to claim all of the rewards from both the free GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe. You can upgrade to a GO Pass Deluxe at any time and still collect rewards from previously unlocked ranks.
Rewards unlocked in the GO Pass will expire on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, so be sure to claim your rewards before they’re gone!
