Why does Chansey rank so high in Great League?
Chansey has very low Attack and very high HP, which is the perfect shape for a CP-capped league. Each Attack IV inflates CP more than Defense or HP IVs, so a low Attack lets Chansey climb to a much higher level under the CP 1500 cap. The result is enormous bulk for a Pokémon that fits in the league at all. Its movepool keeps it out of the actual meta, but its stat product is genuinely top-tier.
Why is Bastiodon’s rank 1 IV spread 0/15/14 instead of 0/15/15?
Stamina goes through a floor before it gets multiplied into the stat product, so an extra Stamina IV does not always raise rank when it pushes CP just over a level threshold. For Bastiodon at CP 1500, dropping Stamina from 15 to 14 lets the Pokémon power up another half-step, and the higher CPM lifts every stat by enough to beat the slightly larger HP pool. The PvP IV ranker on each Pokémon’s Pokédex page sweeps every spread and shows the exact CP and level the rank 1 build sits at.
Should I always chase a rank 1 IV Pokémon for Great League?
Rank 1 only matters in mirrors and very close matchups. The stat-product gap between rank 1 and rank 100 is usually under 1%, which rarely changes the outcome of a fight on its own. A rank 1 build is great if you have one, but a rank 50 with the right moveset will outperform a rank 1 with the wrong moves every time. If you are stardust-constrained, prioritize movesets and matchups before chasing perfect IVs.
Does this table include Best Buddy levels (level 51)?
No — every row uses level cap 50, the level any Pokémon can reach without Best Buddy. We chose level 50 as the default because most Great League trainers do not Best Buddy below the master tier. The individual Pokédex page for each Pokémon shows both level 50 and level 51 builds when they differ, so you can compare the Best Buddy lift before committing the candy.
Why are Shadow Pokémon missing from this leaderboard?
We exclude Shadow forms from the table to avoid duplicate rows and to keep the focus on the standard meta. Shadows in Great League follow a different IV preset because of their 1.2× attack and 0.83× defense multipliers, which shifts the optimal spread. The Pokédex page for any Shadow-eligible Pokémon includes its Shadow rank 1 build alongside the standard one, with the same stat-product math applied.
How does this table differ from a Great League PvE list?
Stat product is a PvP measure — total bulk × damage under a CP cap. PvE rankings use DPS and TDO, which assume no CP cap and reward maxed offensive stats. The two lists barely overlap. A top Great League Pokémon usually has poor raid-attacker scores, and a top raid attacker would bust the CP 1500 cap long before reaching its peak.
