What is the Dowsing Machine
The Dowsing Machine is an item first introduced in Pokémon Diamond & Pearl. It is used to search for hidden items and treasures in Pokémon Pokopia.
How to get the Dowsing Machine
To get the Dowsing Machine, you need to complete the “Check what’s up there” request from 
Hitmonchan. This request can be found to the left of the Pokémon Center beside the stairs.
How to use the Dowsing Machine
Before you can use the Dowsing Machine, you first need to befriend a Pokémon with the “Search” specialty. Once you have done that, talk to the Pokémon and have it follow you.
Then, select the Dowsing Machine in your inventory to equip it.
Finally, press “A” and walk around while holding the Dowsing Machine. Make sure to pay attention to the Pokémon following you, as they will indicate if there is a treasure nearby.
