Welcome to Dual Destiny, the newest season in Pokémon GO! There's a lot to cover, so allow us to walk you through all of the exciting new additions and events coming your way.

Date

Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny will run from December 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. – March 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Dual Destiny Special Research

Keep an eye out for a new Special Research for Dual Destiny, which will be available to claim from Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

New parts of the Special Research will unlock over the course of the Season, so make sure to keep an eye on your Research tab.

Pokémon Debuts

More Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region, featured in the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games for Nintendo Switch, have been spotted in Pokémon GO! After much speculation, it looks like we'll finally be seeing Sinistea join us in the game. We're excited to see what other surprise additions may be coming soon.

Shadow Pokémon Debuts

One-star and three-star Shadow Raids will be available daily during Dual Destiny, while five-star Shadow Raids will take place on Saturdays and Sundays, unless otherwise noted.

Even more exciting, Shadow Regirock, Shadow Regice and Shadow Registeel will be featured in five-star Shadow Raids throughout Dual Destiny. For the first time in Pokémon GO, you may even encounter Shiny ones — if you’re lucky!

Max Pokémon Debuts

Here's some BIG news to get excited for. Dynamax Machop, Dynamax Krabby, Gigantamax Lapras and more will emerge in Max Battles during Dual Destiny. Now's the perfect time to power up your team and get ready to take on these larger-than-life Pokémon.

Community Days

Mark your calendars! Dual Destiny will have Community Day events on the following dates:

December Community Day 2024 (December 21–22)
January Community Day (January 4)
January Community Day Classic (January 25)
February Community Day (February 9)

Themed Stickers

You’ll be able to get themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts and purchasing them from the in-game shop.

Dual Destiny: Eggs-pedition Access

Every month during Dual Destiny, Trainers will be able to purchase a new ticketed experience that includes bonuses and Timed Research. Trainers will also receive an Incubator with their first PokéStop or Gym Photo Disc spin every day. Be sure to check out the web store and in-game shop regularly. You never know what you may find!

GO Battle League

The GO Battle League returns as part of Dual Destiny. Get your Pokémon ready to battle in competitions such as Fantasy Cup, Holiday Cup, Love Cup and more.

PokéStop Showcases

PokéStop Showcases throughout Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny will be held from Saturday to Sunday as well as from Monday to Wednesday. Log in weekly to find out which Pokémon you can show off.
