Edition differences: original GBA and Nintendo Switch (2026)
Battle data describes Generation III rules. Availability notes distinguish native catches, evolution and breeding from original GBA imports. GBA games can trade with compatible Generation III games after the network quest; Switch supports local FireRed/LeafGreen trading and cannot import Pokémon from other games. Transfers to Pokémon HOME are one way.
GBA: AuroraTicket and MysticTicket required historical event distributions. Switch: both tickets are added after entering the Hall of Fame, providing access to Deoxys on Birth Island and Lugia/Ho-Oh on Navel Rock. Other event Pokémon and GBA imports are not made available by these tickets.
Original GBA: a roaming Entei or Raikou that successfully ends an encounter with Roar disappears permanently because of a game bug. The Switch editions fix this Roar disappearance bug.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I compare two Pokémon?
Pick a Pokémon for each side of Head-to-head. Their base stats line up side by side, with the higher number highlighted. Below the stats, the moves split into three lists: only the first Pokémon, both, and only the second.
Can I compare more than two Pokémon?
Yes. Switch to Table to compare up to four at once. Turn on Differences only to hide tied stats and the moves every Pokémon learns the same way.
What do Lv, TM and the other labels next to a move mean?
They show the easiest way that Pokémon learns the move. Lv 42 means it learns the move at Level 42, Start means it knows the move at Level 1, and Evo. means it learns the move when it evolves. Use the filters above the moves to see only the ones learned one way, like TM.
Can I add a Pokémon from Compare to my team?
Yes. Choose Add to under its name, then Add to team. You can add it to your draft, to one of your saved FireRed and LeafGreen teams, or to a new team. To save it to one of your lists instead, choose Add to list.
Why can’t I find a Pokémon?
Only Pokémon you can use in FireRed and LeafGreen appear in Compare. If you switch to a game that doesn’t have a Pokémon you picked, its card says so until you change it.
