Herba Mystica is a sandwich ingredient only found in Pokémon 

and is only obtainable after beating the base game. There are five kinds of Herba Mystica: Bitter, Salty, Sour, Spicy and Sweet. Each type provides a different effect depending on the sandwich’s ingredients and which combination of them you use.

The effects of the sandwich vary depending on which type and combination of Herba Mystica you use. Each ingredient has a unique set of hidden values that determines its flavor, effect on a sandwich, and which type of sandwich could become if used with other ingredients. Some of these hidden values decrease other effects as well. To achieve Title Power in a sandwich, you need at least one Herba Mystica, and to attain Sparkling Power, you need at least two. 

Level 3 Sandwich Powers are only obtainable using Herba Mystica

The effects that a sandwich can provide, also known as Sandwich Powers, are Egg, Catching, Item Drop, Humungo, Teensy, Raid, Encounter, Exp. Point and 

Sandwich Powers that are exclusive to Herba Mystica: Title and Sparkling

Herba Mystica has the highest hidden values for flavor depending on its type, which boosts an effect depending on the flavor combinations and has the highest hidden values for all types. These hidden values determine the typing and flavor of the sandwich, which determines the Sandwich Powers.

Sandwich Powers come in three levels, each increasing in effectiveness. Here is an in-depth breakdown of which combination of Herba Mystica is used to get Level 3 Sandwich Powers:

Egg Power - Sweet and either Salty or Bitter

Item Drop Power - Bitter and either Sweet, Sour or Spicy

Humungo Power - Spicy and either Salty, Sour or Bitter

Teensy Power - Sour and either Salty, Bitter or Spicy

Encounter Power - Salty and either Sweet, Sour or Spicy

Since some of the Herba Mystica combinations can be applied to multiple Sandwich Powers, depending on the topping(s) of the sandwich, you might need to add a condiment or two as well as the Herba Mystica to get the desired effect. Here is the list of tiebreakers in the situation where multiple Sandwich Powers are shared between combinations of Herba Mystica and the flavor values are tied:

In the case that you do want the Sandwich Power that has the lower priority from the list above, it is recommended that you either change the topping of the sandwich to one that provides the desired flavor value, add a topping that provides the desired flavor value or add condiments that add the flavor value. It is always recommended to know what you want to make before making the sandwich so you don’t forget ingredients, make the sandwich wrong, or waste ingredients.

Herba Mystica is unlocked after beating the game. This is achieved by beating the Victory Road, Starfall Street, and Path of Legends storylines and beating The Way Home storyline after those three. You do not need to purchase the 

 DLC to unlock or obtain Herba Mystica. However, the DLC does provide extra ways to get them that are not base game methods. The three main ways to unlock Herba Mystica include Tera Raids, Ogre Oustin’ and through the special coaches in the Blueberry Academy League Club Room.

Raiding for Herba Mystica is the best and most accessible method for farming them. Herba Mystica can only drop from five-, six-, and seven-star event raids. However, not all raids are guaranteed to drop them, and only specific Pokémon drop specific kinds of Herba Mystica.

The chances for Herba Mystica to drop from a five-star raid are 2.4%. They share similar drop chances as Mints, Ability Capsules, Bottle Caps and money-making items like Pearl Strings, Balm Mushrooms and Comet Shards. Usually, each raid can only drop one Herba Mystica, but the Pokémon listed above can drop multiple of them in a single raid. Something else to note is that while the drop rates for Herba Mystica don’t change for Pokémon that can drop all of them, the effective drop rate to get a Herba Mystica becomes 12% since that’s the cumulative chance of all five types.

The chance for Herba Mystica to drop from a six-star raid is 3.03%. They share similar drop chances as Mints. Similar to five-star raids, each raid usually only drops one Herba Mystica, but the Pokémon listed above that can drop all five can drop multiple of them in a single raid. Just like five-star raids, the effective drop rate to get a Herba Mystica becomes 15.15% since that’s the cumulative chance of all five Herba Mystica.

While the counters for each raid depend on the Pokémon that the raid is for and which Tera Type the raid is, here are some excellent counters that you should be able to use for most raids:

. With its typing of Normal/Ground, it can hit every raid for at least neutral damage. Ursaluna also has the ability Guts, which doubles its attack when it has a status condition. One savvy trick is to give Ursaluna a Flame Orb to hold, and you will have Guts activated. Ursaluna also has access to the move 

, which maxes its attack in exchange for half its health. With powerful attacking moves like 

, you shouldn’t have a problem with this tradeoff. However, if you don’t have Pokémon 

, this option can’t be used. This is because Ursaluna can only be obtained in 

 may not be as powerful as Ursaluna, but it is still a capable raid attacker. It has the typing of Electric/Fighting, allowing it to hit everything for at least neutral, just like Ursaluna. Iron Hands, like every other 

 Paradox Pokemon, has Quark Drive, which will boost its attack by 30% under Electric Terrain or when holding the item Booster Energy. Like Ursaluna, Iron Hands has access to the move Belly Drum, along with extremely powerful electric moves, such as Supercell Slam and Wild Charge. You can also run 

 if you don’t want to risk recoil. It also has access to mighty fighting moves like 

. There is one popular strategy where you run Iron Hands with Shell Bell and Drain Punch for complete self-sustain. However, note that Iron Hands is exclusive to 

 is the least versatile raid attacker, but that doesn’t make it any less powerful. Given the typing of Steel/Ghost, it can also hit everything for at least neutral damage. Gholdengo has the ability Good as Gold, which gives Gholdengo immunity to all status moves that target it. Common items you would run with Gholdengo are Life Orb or Choice Specs. If you run Life Orb Gholdengo, the strategy is to use Nasty Plot until you think you can do consistently high damage to the raid. Gholdengo also has powerful steel moves such as Steel Beam and its signature move, Make It Rain. However, its best Ghost move is 

, which leaves the possibility of being outclassed as a Ghost-type raid attacker.

 counterpart to Iron Hands for raids. It has the typing Ghost/Fairy, which is unresisted by every type of raid. As a raid attacker, Flutter Mane can be considered a combination of Iron Hands and Gholdengo, but unfortunately, it is not as good as either. Flutter Mane has Protosynthesis, which does the same thing as Quark Drive, but is activated under sun instead of Electric Terrain, meaning running Booster Energy will be best for it. However, unlike Iron Hands, you will need to EV train Flutter Mane to get a Special Attack raise. Instead of 

, Flutter Mane gets Calm Mind as a setup move, while its most reliable damaging moves are 

 is a pretty good raid attacker who is exclusive to 

. While Ceruledge is a Fire/Ghost type Pokémon, you’ll usually use it as a primarily Fire-type raid attacker. Ceruledge’s abilities aren’t as influential as the other Pokémon mentioned. Still, Flash Fire would be the better ability for raids as this gives immunity to Fire-type attacks and powers up its Fire-type moves. Ceruledge as a raid attacker is mainly used for its incredible self sustain with the move Bitter Blade. Bitter Blade heals for 50% of damage dealt, so run Ceruledge with Shell Bell for added healing or Muscle Band to increase the damage of 

. On the other hand, if you are using Ceruledge as a Ghost-type raid attacker, it is recommended that you run Shadow Claw.

 counterpart to Ceruledge. Armarouge has the same choice of abilities as Ceruledge, so it’s also recommended to run Flash Fire. Unlike Ceruledge, though, Armarouge is a special attacker. You’ll want to set up using Calm Mind and then use powerful moves such as Armor Cannon and either Expanding Force or Psychic to attack. However, be warned that with each use of 

, Armarouge’s defenses will lower, so it is not best for sustained fights.

Raid Reset Method for Herba Mystica Farming

While you could do multiple raids to get plenty of Herba Mystica, it would take a painstaking amount of time. It is more time-efficient and effective to soft reset to get Herba Mystica. This is where the soft reset method for raids comes in.

It is best to use this method on the Pokémon that can drop every kind of Herba Mystica and can drop multiple of them in each raid. The host of the raid will have to make sure to have autosave turned off and then must save before the raid.

The host will complete the raid to see if multiple Herba Mystica drop. If not, repeat the process of searching raids until you find one that drops multiple. If multiple do drop, the host can go online and either invite a group through link codes or random players online.

Note that it does not matter if the raid participants have turned on autosave. After the raid, the host would turn off their game and turn it back on. If done correctly, they will be in front of the Tera Crystal as if the raid had never been done. Repeat this process until you have all the Herba Mystica you want and need.

How To Obtain Herba Mystica Using Ogre Oustin’

Ogre Oustin’ is a minigame unlocked in the 

, where you pop balloons for berries and place them on pedestals. To obtain Herba Mystica in Ogre Oustin’, you must unlock Hard Mode. You must complete Easy and Normal Mode of Ogre Oustin’ at least once to do that. To complete Hard Mode, you will need a group of at least three, but having four is better. Complete coordination is required to be successful in Hard Mode Ogre Oustin’.

Along with one of any Herba Mystica, you can get Feathers, Exp. Candy up to Medium and three to five Fresh-Start Mochi. Because of this, it can take multiple attempts to get any Herba Mystica. With the difficulty of Hard Mode and the fact that it can take multiple attempts to even get one Herba Mystica, Ogre Oustin’ is not a recommended way to farm.

How To Obtain Herba Mystica Using the League Club Room

The League Club Room is an aesthetic addition in the 

 DLC, where you can decorate it, invite NPCs for unique interactions through Special Coaches, use the Item Printer, and unlock cool cosmetics from the club computer. While you can obtain Herba Mystica from the League Club Room, this only happens once, so it is considered a bonus way to earn a one-time Herba Mystica gift. Certain Special Coaches will give you three of a certain Herba Mystica. You only need to interact with them once to get the Herba Mystica gift. The coaches that give them are Katy (Sweet), Kofu (Spicy), Larry (Salty), Tyme (Bitter) and Saguaro (Sour).

Herba Mystica Farming Guide

Dynamax Adventures (DAs for short) are a feature added to Pokémon Sword and Shield with the Crown Tundra DLC. In these DAs, you fight through four raid dens with NPCs or other online players with a max party limit of four. In each den, you face off against one Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon, with the last one being either a Legendary or an Ultra Beast.

The first and biggest reason you should do DAs is because they allow you to very easily find shiny Pokémon, with the chances being 1/300 (0.33%) without Shiny Charm and just 1/100 (1%) with Shiny Charm. Not only that, DAs are also one of the best ways to shiny hunt Legendaries and Ultra Beasts.

Another reason to do DAs is to get Dynite Ore, which you can exchange for various rare and desired items by speaking to the NPC with the 

, located to the right of the lead scientist.

Which Legendaries/Ultra Beasts Can You Encounter?

There are 31 Legendaries/Ultra Beasts which you can encounter in both versions of the game (Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield), as well as eight version-exclusive Legendaries for each. Let’s break down which Pokémon you’ll find in each game so you can shiny hunt your favorites with ease.

The non-exclusive Legendaries and Ultra Beasts you can encounter are: 

To unlock DAs, you first have to buy the Sword and Shield Expansion Pass. Once you have it, you then go to the Crown Tundra (located by the train station in Wedgehurst). Once there, you’ll encounter Peony and Peonia. After some quick dialogue and battles, you’ll then get taken to the DA location and the tutorial will begin. Note: Don't worry about losing to Peony in battle, as you’ll still progress despite losing the battle. After defeating your first DA during the tutorial, you’ll then unlock DAs completely and can complete as many as you like!

To start a DA, you first need to head to the beginning of the Crown Tundra map and speak to the lead scientist. This will be the same scientist you talked to during your first DA tutorial. After that, you can pick the Legendary/Ultra Beast you want to go for.

To begin your DA, you’ll be asked to select one Pokémon out of three random options which you will use throughout your DA unless you decide to swap (more info on that later). The Pokémon you select are different from the Pokémon you have in your party. The Pokémon you get to choose from at the beginning are always randomly generated so be sure to review their movesets and choose carefully!

After you’ve chosen your Pokémon, you’ll have to decide between two dens to battle through. Throughout the whole DA, you and your team will have four lives total. This means that whenever a Pokémon faints, your team will lose one life. Lose all four of them, and you’ll get thrown out of the DA.

After defeating the first Pokémon you encounter, you’ll get an option to catch it or not. If you decide to catch it, afterwards you’ll get a chance to swap it with your current Pokémon to use for the remainder of the DA.

Once the first den is defeated and you’ve chosen to catch the Pokémon or not, you now repeat the process by picking the next den paths you want to embark on. When you have defeated the third Pokémon, you now get to battle the Legendary/Ultra Beast! 

After defeating the Legendary/Ultra Beast, you get to pick one Pokémon that you defeated and caught during your DA to bring with you back into the main game. You can also decide to not bring one with you. Once you have picked your Pokémon, you will then speak to the lead scientist again, who will let you save the path so you can go back and re-battle the Legendary/Ultra Beast again.

To host DAs with players online, you first need to get a Nintendo Switch online subscription. Then, connect to the internet by pressing Y and then + on your Nintendo Switch controller.

Once you have connected to the internet, go and speak to the lead scientist to start the DA - but this time, instead of starting it normally, you will need to press the + button on your controller and pick a link code. This will be used to connect with other players using the same link code as you. When you have entered the link code you want, press ‘Invite Others’ and the game will find every player with the same link code to join you. Once everyone is ready, you can start the adventure!

To join DAs with online players, it's mostly the same process as hosting. The only difference is that you will need to press ‘Invite Others’ at the same time as the host. If you would like to join a friend or someone else you know then you would need to type in the same link code but if you want to play online with random people then just press ‘Invite Others’ without typing in a link code and the game should find a lobby for you to join. Once you have joined, press ‘Ready to battle!’ and when everyone is ready, the DA should start. If you don't have the same path saved as the host, then you can press ‘Anything is fine’ instead of a specific path.

If your goal is shiny hunting and the Legendary/Ultra Beast you battle isn't shiny, DON'T pick it because then you won't be able to capture another one.

Make sure to look at the Legendary’s/Ultra Beast’s weaknesses and how they compare to the strengths in your party to help you choose which den to go to.

There is sometimes a scientist or an item bag in between dens - so if you don’t know which den to pick from your options and there's an item bag or scientist, then go there. The item bag will let you choose from one of five items and the scientist will let you swap out your Pokémon with a mystery one, which could help you as you continue down your DA.

I would recommend catching every Pokémon you encounter, as this allows for more chances for one to be shiny.

All Poké Balls have a 100% catch rate while in a DA, so feel free to use whichever one you want.

When doing DAs on your own, be sure to turn off battle animations in the settings, as this will make the adventures go by way faster.

Once you have completed the DA, make sure you press “Check summary” just in case there is a shiny. However, note that it can be very hard to notice.

Face off against Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon with a chance for a shiny Legendary or Ultra Beast!

The Ultimate Dynamax Adventure Guide

With the release of the Indigo Disk DLC in Scarlet and Violet, starter Pokémon from all previous generations have returned! Trainers can unlock them as wild spawns in the Terarium as an option in the League Club Room. Collect enough BP (12,000) to unlock them all and shiny hunt every starter Pokémon from Generation 1 - 8 with ease.

You need to have bought the Scarlet/Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.

You need to have beaten both the main story in Paldea and the story in Kitakami.

Blueberry Points (BP) are a form of currency used in the Indigo Disk DLC, exclusive to Blueberry Academy. They can be used to buy various upgrades, purchase items from the school store, and are necessary to enter the Elite Trials. You can earn BP by completing Blueberry Quests (BBQs) or by earning them by defeating trainers in the Terarium’s biomes.

The BBQ menu can be accessed by Pressing the Right D-Pad Arrow, and then L/R. This will bring up 3 BBQs. There are 3 stages of BBQs: Normal, Bonus, and Group. Normal BBQs give 20-40 BP, depending on the quest. Once you have completed 10 Normal BBQs, a bonus quest is unlocked. These bonus quests can give between 100-200 BP. If in a Union Circle, completing 3 bonus quests will unlock a group quest. These require 2 or more people and will reward you with 350-600 BP. You can reroll quests, and it costs 10 BP for normal quests, and 50 BP for bonus quests.

Once you have obtained 3000 BP, you can make your way to the Entrance of the Academy.

Then, walk over to the turnstiles and select ‘League Club Room’.

From there, use the computer and select ‘Contribute BP’. In the upgrades menu, locate the Terarium Club. They will offer you the chance to find starter Pokémon in the wild, in exchange for 3000 BP.

In total there are 4 upgrades, 1 for each area in the Terarium.

The starter Pokémon unlocked will vary depending on which biome you choose to upgrade. These are the Pokémon that will spawn in each of the four biomes:

Now that we’ve unlocked the starter Pokémon in the wild, what can we do with them? Each of the starters have specific habitats in their respective biomes, so make sure to check the map below to see where they will spawn!

All of the starter Pokémon listed here can also be shiny hunted. Use a sparkling power sandwich to hunt these starter Pokémon.

Complete BBQs in a union circle as everyone can complete tasks simultaneously, and everyone will reap the rewards for each quest. 4 people will maximise this and it is the best way to collect BP.

How to unlock all starter Pokémon as wild spawns in the Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC.

Unlocking the starter Pokémon in Blueberry Academy

All Pokémon are assigned types. Types affect various characteristics of a Pokémon, including effectiveness in battle against other Pokémon, the type of moves it can learn, design features, and often the color palette chosen for that Pokémon.

Currently there are 18 available types a Pokémon could have. All Pokémon belong to either one or two of these type categories. 

, for example, is a mono Fire type, while 

is a dual Grass and Poison type. Types are consistent across species, meaning all Charmander will be Fire types. Let’s take a closer look at how Pokémon types affect battles.

Like Pokémon, attacks are also assigned types. For instance, 

 is a Fire type attack. When a Pokémon uses an attack, the type of the attack is compared against the type of the defending Pokémon. 

Depending on the type matchup, the attack could be neutral (100% damage), super effective (200% damage), not very effective (50% damage), or have no effect (0% damage).

 Knowing the effectiveness of attack types on Pokémon types can give you a huge advantage in battle!

Attack effectiveness is multiplied for dual type Pokémon. For example, 

, a dual Water/Flying type, would take 400% damage from an Electric attack, since Electric is both 2x effective against Water and 2x effective against Flying. This works the same for resistances. 

, a Bug/Steel Pokémon, would only take 25% damage (.5 x .5) from a Grass type attack, since Grass is not very effective against both Bug and Steel.

To easily calculate dual type effectiveness, you can also use Dittobase’s 

. This useful tool allows you to select your Pokémon's type(s) to see how well it defends against each attack type, as well as checking offensive attack effectiveness and coverage.

Another factor to consider when calculating attack damage is Same Type Attack Bonus, abbreviated as STAB.

 If a Pokémon's type matches its attack type, the attack will do an additional 50% damage.

. Hydro Pump is a base 110 power Water type attack. Since Blastoise is a water type Pokémon using Hydro Pump, a water type attack, the STAB bonus applies, essentially bumping the power of Hydro Pump from 110 to 165 (110 x 1.5). Because STAB and type effectiveness are multiplied, your Pokémon has the capability of doing massive damage against the right opponent. A mindful trainer will consider this and make the appropriate switches in battle.

Tera types, introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, add another dimension to Pokémon typing. By using a Tera Orb in battle, you can Terastallize your Pokémon, switching its type completely! 

When a Pokémon Terastallizes in battle, it loses its original type(s) and becomes whatever its Tera type is.

 The Tera type is listed on the Pokémon Status Summary screen, directly under its type. 

. Miraidon is an Electric/Dragon type. This particular Miraidon has Electric for its Tera type, meaning

 when it Terastallizes, it loses its Dragon typing and becomes a pure Electric type.

 This means Miraidon will no longer have its weaknesses to Fairy and Dragon type attacks but retains its weakness to Ground type attacks. 

Terastallizing into one of the Pokémon's original typings will also boost the STAB bonus from 50% to 100%, meaning even in a neutral type matchup, Miraidon will be hitting for twice the damage when using Electric type attacks!

 This is a great example of how to use Terastallization to boost your offensive power.

Terastalliztion is also often used as a defensive tactic. This shiny 

, for example, has a Bug/Steel typing, with a Tera type of Water. Normally, Scizor would take 400% damage from Fire attacks since both its typings are weak to Fire. However, if you predict an incoming Fire attack, you can Terastallize into the Water type to reduce that damage down to 50%. Additionally, a 

Pokémon will gain STAB on attack types that match its Tera type, while retaining STAB on attacks of its original type(s)

. This means that after Terastallizing, any Bug, Steel, or Water type moves Scizor uses will do an additional 50% damage!

If a Pokémon can’t learn any moves that match its Tera type, you can always teach it TM 171 

. Tera Blast is a 80 BP attack that will always match the typing of your Tera type. It will deal either Physical or Special damage, depending on whichever stat is higher of the Pokémon using it: Attack, or Special Attack, respectively.

Most wild Pokémon will have a Tera type that matches one of their standard types. However, certain glowing Pokémon in the wild and Tera Raid Pokémon may have different Tera types. The good news is Tera types can be changed!

To change your Pokémon's Tera type, you must first beat the Normal type gym in Medali. Next, collect 50 Tera Shards of your desired type. Shards can be won from defeating Tera Raid Dens, or from completing classes at the Academy. When you have the required number of shards, head to the Treasury Eatery in Medali and speak to the Chef behind the counter. He will offer to change your Pokémon's Tera type in exchange for 50 Tera Shards. Think carefully before choosing your Tera type, as these shards can be hard to come by.

The Stellar type, introduced in the Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC, is worth a special mention. Below are the key points to remember about the Stellar type:

Currently, no Pokémon have the Stellar type as one of their main types. This type is only accessible as a Tera type when Stellar Tera Shards are used to change your Pokémon's Tera type to Stellar

There are no Stellar type moves, however, the moves 

 become the Stellar type if the user has Terastallized into the Stellar type

Stellar type moves are super effective only against Terastallized Pokémon

Pokémon that Terastallize into the Stellar type maintain the weaknesses of their original types

Pokémon Type Effectiveness Guide

Here are three viable solo Pokemon builds for the 7-star Samurott Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Tauros, Annihilape, and Koraidon consistently earned me victories when challenging Samurott alone.

Fire type Tauros is exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet.

Start the fight with one or two Tail Whips. Samurott will then knock you out. When you revive, use Sunny day to boost your fire type damage. Samurott's critical hit will trigger Anger Point, maximizing your attack. Now use Raging Bull repeatedly until you win! Don't forget to Terastalize as soon as possible.

Tip: Raging Bull may seem normal type at first, but it changes type based on the breed of the Tauros!

Begin the Fight with 2 Screeches. Next, use Rage Fist over and over. Its damage will increase the more times you use it. 

Koraidon has naturally high stats and a decent fire move.

3 Solo Builds for 7-Star Samurott

This one turn, one hit knock-out strategy is the fastest way to defeat the 7-star Samurott Tera raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. It requires a full team of four players, but when executed correctly you can knock-out Samurott in less than 30 seconds.

The strategy revolves around Tauros (Blaze) with Anger Point and a Medicham with Pure Power & Skill Swap. Trigger the anger point first by using Frost Breath on the Tauros. Once the Anger Point is triggered, Medicham uses Skill Swap to double Tauros' attack via Pure Power. At the same time, Koraidon uses Screech and auto-triggers Sunny Day. 

Then, Tauros goes in for big damage and knocks out Samurott with a super effective Flare Blitz.

The fastest way to defeat the 7-star Samurott Tera Raid. Bring a full group of 4 and KO Samurott in 30 seconds or less with this turn 1 strategy!

Samurott 1-turn OHKO in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The best and fastest way to farm money in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is to repeatedly challenge the Academy Ace Tournament held in Mesagoza. You can unlock this tournament by completing the main story and rematching all the gym leaders. This method allows you to participate in a series of battles to earn money by defeating the other trainers. Using the Amulet Coin to double your prize money, this method allows you to quickly fill your pockets with currency, between 26,000 and 34,000 per battle! You can also get some great items as a reward for winning, including Nuggets, Nature Mints and if you’re really lucky, even a Gold Bottle Cap!

Dark moves work wonders in the Academy Ace Tournament, and 

 unleashes them better than any Pokemon in the game thanks to its 135 base Special Attack and Beads of Ruin ability that decreases the Special Defense stat of all Pokémon on the field other than the Pokémon with this Ability by 25%. This allows
