When going for trades Mist Ball's damage reduction makes it safer for to enter in range for Dragon Pulses. Shell Bell aims to keep HP topped off incidentally. Cooldown reduction is valuable to maintain uptime on the debuffs as well as allowing quicker stacking of Eon Power. Resonant Guard acts in a similar way to Shell Bell but without cooldown reduction and without needing to hit a move to proc (ie: an auto attack can proc Resonant Guard) and has early game ally support as an alternate item to Drive Lens.
