Basic Information

Goodra is a Defender Pokémon that was released on March 16th, 2023. It is available to purchase in the shop for 12000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems. Goodra is a Special Attacking Pokémon and is listed in the Intermediate difficulty. Goomy evolves into Sliggoo at level 5, and Sliggoo evolves into Goodra at level 8.

Description of Goodra’s Moves and Abilities

Ability - Gooey

Gooey has two different effects. The first is when Goodra is hit with an attack, there is a chance that slime will scatter around itself. This slime damages opponents, decreases their attack speed by 50% for 2 seconds, and applies a debuff that can stack 4 times. For each stack, the debuff slows opponents by 10% for 6 seconds, so a maximum of 40% is possible. These effects can also be applied to wild Pokémon.

The second effect applies when Goodra enters any grass. When it does, Goodra continuously heals HP over 3 seconds. This healing stops when Goodra leaves the grass, attacks, or uses a move. When Goodra recovers HP in this fashion, its attack is a boosted attack. This healing effect goes on a 12-second cooldown after being triggered.

Basic Attack

Goodra gains a boosted attack with every third attack, which deals increased damage. When hitting opponents that have a debuff from Goodra’s ability Gooey, its move cooldowns are reduced by 1.5 seconds. If Goodra hits an enemy at range with its boosted attack, they are applied with the same debuff from its ability and are slowed by 50% for 0.5 seconds. If Goodra hits a boosted attack in melee range, the attack does more damage based on the enemies’ maximum HP.

Moves

Bubble

Bubble is learned at level 1 or 3, depending on whether you selected it at level 1. Bubble has a 6-second cooldown. Goomy gets encased in a bubble, granting it a shield for 3 seconds. When the shield is destroyed, lasts for the full 3 seconds, or when the move is used when Goomy still has the shield, the bubble pops, damaging opponents around it and slowing them by 30% for 2 seconds.

Tackle

Tackle is learned at level 1 or 3, depending if you selected it at level 1. Tackle has a 10-second cooldown. Goomy charges to the nearest Pokémon in range, dealing damage to it and throwing it. If the move lands, Goomy bounces back a short distance.

Muddy Water

Muddy Water is 1 of 2 moves you can select at level 5, replacing Bubble. Muddy Water has a 4.27 second cooldown until level 9, then its cooldown goes down to 4.05 seconds. Sliggoo/Goodra splashes muddy water around itself, dealing damage in the area of effect and decreasing opponents’ damage by 15% for 3 seconds. When the move does damage, Sliggoo/Goodra’s Defense and Special Defense are increased for 2 seconds. If Muddy Water is used again within 6 seconds, the defensive buffs gained are increased. This effect can stack up to 4 times.

Dragon Pulse

Dragon Pulse is 1 of 2 moves you can select at level 5, replacing Bubble. Dragon Pulse has a 5.7 second cooldown until level 9, then its cooldown goes down to 5.4 seconds. Sliggoo/Goodra unleashes a shockwave in a designated direction, dealing damage up to 4 times. If opponents are hit by the center of the move, it does more damage and Sliggoo/Goodra restore HP. More HP is restored if the opponents are debuffed from the ability Gooey. Sliggoo/Goodra do not restore HP from wild Pokémon.

Power Whip

Power Whip is 1 of 2 moves you can select at level 8, replacing Tackle. Power Whip has a 7.13-second cooldown at level 8, and a 6.75-second cooldown at level 9 onwards. Goodra lashes out with its horns in the designated direction, dealing damage and slowing opponents by 80% for 3 seconds. If the move hits at its maximum range, opponents are pulled towards Goodra.

Acid Spray

Acid Spray is 1 of 2 moves you can select at level 8, replacing Tackle. Acid Spray has a 7.13 second cooldown at level 8, and a 6.75 second cooldown at level 9 onwards. Goodra spits acid at an opponent, dealing damage and slowing them by 80% for 3 seconds, which decays 15% every 0.5 seconds. If this move is used again, Goodra dashes in the designated direction, dealing damage to anything it hits. If the dash lands the opponent marked by the acid, they are thrown for .75 seconds and damage is dealt in a small area around them to nearby opponents.

Unite Move - Right as Rain

Goodra’s Unite Move has a cooldown of 89 seconds. Upon activation, rain falls around Goodra, continuously restoring its HP over 6 seconds. While the move is active, Goodra gains a 40% max HP shield, a 50% movement speed increase, and all its basic attacks become boosted attacks.

Move Upgrades

  • Muddy Water - At level 11, the amount of Defense and Special Defense obtained when hitting an opponent is increased per stack.
  • Dragon Pulse - At level 11, Goodra restores more HP when hitting opponents with the center of the move, and even more if they have the debuff from its ability Gooey.
  • Power Whip - At level 13, the debuff from its ability is applied when the move hits.
  • Acid Spray - At level 13, the debuff from its ability is applied when either the acid or the dash hit.

Best Builds

Muddy Water & Power Whip

This set prioritizes being as close to opponents as possible in the frontline. The main weakness of this set is Goodra’s lack of self-sustain and mobility, so held items recommended are Focus Band, Slick Spoon, and either Resonant Guard or Shell Bell. Battle items to recommend are either Potion, X Speed, or Eject Button.

Muddy Water & Acid Spray

This set also prioritizes being as close to opponents as possible, but Goodra has an easier time approaching enemies using this set. Which means Goodra’s only weakness in this set is the lack of self-sustainability. Recommended held items are the same as the last build. Focus Band, Slick Spoon, and either Resonant Guard or Shell Bell. The best battle item with this set is Potion.

Dragon Pulse & Power Whip

This set prioritizes slowing opponents and pulling them in so Goodra can heal from them. The main weakness with this set is Goodra’s lack of mobility. Recommended held items would be Slick Spoon, Resonant Guard, and Exp. Share. For battle items, either X Speed or Eject Button.

Dragon Pulse & Acid Spray

This set prioritizes Goodra approaching opponents using the dash, so Goodra can heal from them. This set is Goodra’s most balanced set with no glaring weaknesses. Held items recommended are the same as the last build. Slick Spoon, Resonant Guard, and Exp Share. Battle items recommended are the same as the Muddy Water & Power Whip set. Potion, X Speed, Or Eject Button.

Emblems

Goodra’s best emblem set is 6 green and 6 white emblems. 6 green emblems give Goodra 4% more special attack, allowing it to restore more HP. 6 white emblems 4% more HP, making it tankier so it can stay in fights and survive longer.
