Ranked Battles Season 5 in Pokémon Legends Z-A!
Introduction
The fifth Pokémon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battles season is almost here! Running from Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. PST to Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. PST.
When you compete, you’ll earn points based on your performance in these battles, which will raise your rank. You’ll start at Rank Z, and you can be promoted all the way to Rank A.
For Trainers that reach Rank S during this season, a special reward of a Sceptilite, which is used to Mega Evolve 
Sceptile. Mega Stones returning as promotion rewards for Rank Y through Rank V include Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, and Baxcalibrite, respectively.
Eligible Pokémon
Eligible Pokémon for Ranked Battles Season 5 include Lumiose Pokédex No. 001–227 and Hyperspace Pokédex No. 001–127, 131, and 132. You can register Pokémon from Lv. 1 to Lv. 100, but all Pokémon will automatically be set to Lv. 50 during battles. No more than one Pokémon with the same Pokédex number may be used.
Rewards
There are three types of rewards for Ranked Battles. You’ll receive battle rewards at the end of each battle (regardless of your performance), promotion rewards when you advance to the next rank, and season rewards, which are based on the ranking you have when the season concludes.

How to Start a Ranked Battle
To start a Ranked Battle, follow these steps:
1. Launch your Pokémon Legends: Z-A game.
2. Press the X Button to open the main menu.
3. Select Link Play.
4. Select Ranked Battles.
How to Receive In-Game Season Rewards
You will need to finish at least one match with a win or loss during Season 5 to be eligible for season rewards at the end of the season. To receive your in-game season rewards, follow these steps:
1. After the season has ended, launch your Pokémon Legends: Z-A game.
2. Press the X Button to open the main menu.
3. Select Link Play.
4. Select Ranked Battles.
