Scarlet & Violet Release
Release Date
Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet will release on March 31st, 2023, at participating retailers. It will arrive in Pokémon TCG Live on March 30th, 2023.
About the Expansion
Scarlet & Violet will be the first expansion of the Scarlet & Violet Series, inspired by Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Pokémon ex will return, and this time they can be Basic, Stage 1, or Stage 2 Pokémon. They will have high HP and powerful attacks and Abilities, but will give up two Prize cards when Knocked Out.
Tera Pokémon ex will debut with etched artwork that shows off their Tera Types, and they will take no damage from attacks while on the Bench. Koraidon ex and Miraidon ex will lead the expansion.
The set will also bring card design updates: gray borders instead of yellow, Trainer card subcategories in the top left corner, and expansion and language codes in place of expansion symbols.
The expansion will include:
- 12 double rare Pokémon ex, including 2 Tera Pokémon ex featuring Arcanine and Gyarados
- 12 ultra rare Pokémon ex and 8 ultra rare Supporter cards
- 24 illustration rare Pokémon
- 10 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
- 6 hyper rare gold etched cards
