We've just received some exciting news about new Mega Pokémon that we can encounter on our journey through Lumiose City, starting this October in Pokémon Legends Z-A.

In today's Nintendo Direct, three new Mega Evolved Pokémon were revealed, and they are none other than the first partner Pokémon from X and Y.

Mega Chesnaught, Mega Greninja, and Mega Delphox will be playable starting in Pokémon Legends Z-A.

          Mega Chesnaught

Mega Chesnaught is a Grass-, Fighting-type Pokémon. Its reinforced armor grants exceptional defense. When Mega Chesnaught goes on the offensive, that same armor turns into a devastating weapon, crushing its foes.

          Mega Greninja

Mega Greninja is a Dark-, Water-type Pokémon. When Mega Evolved, Greninja's reflexes become heightened to their peak, allowing it always to strike first.

Twin Water Shuriken float at the ready, spinning in the air like deadly blades. Every motion is swift and deliberate, befitting a ninja who strikes before its foe can react.

          Mega Delphox

Mega Delphox is a Fire-, Psychic-type Pokémon, with the same typing as its regular form. It uses its Psychic powers to mesmerize its opponents before dealing damage swiftly and without mistake.

How to get Mega Chesnaught, Mega Greninja, and Mega Delphox in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

These new Mega Evolved Pokémon cannot be obtained through regular gameplay. Somewhat controversially, the only way to get Mega Stones needed to Mega Evolve Chesnaught, Greninja, and Delphox is to compete in online Ranked Battles and move up the ranks.

          Chesnaughtite

Players will receive Mega Stones as rewards for participating in the Z-A Battle Club. This requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership, which is a monthly subscription (although it can be paid yearly to reduce its monthly cost dramatically).

          How to get Mega Greninja

Greninjite will be rewarded by participating in ranked battles during season one. We know players will need to move up the ranks, but the exact details are not yet known.
