Get Mewtwo and its Mega Stones in Pokémon Legends Z-A!
Introduction
Starting December 2, 2025, you can add the Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon 
Mewtwo to your team in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The Mewtwonite X and the Mewtwonite Y are obtainable via Mystery Gift. By obtaining these Mega Stones, you will gain access to the special side mission “Project M” which will allows you to catch Mewtwo. The side mission is only available to play once you’ve completed the game’s main story.
How to get the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y
To claim the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y, follow these steps:
1. Open the main menu and select Link Play.
2. Select Mystery Gift.
3. Select Get via Internet, then select "Project M"
4. Be sure to save your game.
How to obtain Mewtwo
Once you’ve received the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y, visit Lysandre Café and go to floor B3F.
When you enter floor B3F, a short cutscene will play. After the cutscene finishes, Mable will task you with battling and catching Mewtwo, and after you finish talking to Mable, the side mission "Project M" will begin.
Once you have finished talking to Mable, you will be able to get into a battle with Mewtwo and capture it.
Finally, when you have caught Mewtwo and finished talking to Mable again, the side mission "Project M" will be completed.
